During the use of bearings, various faults sometimes occur. Today, Langche Bearing shares several common bearing faults and their corresponding solutions.
When the mechanism is running, the part where the bearing is installed is allowed to have a certain temperature. When stroking the shell of the mechanism, it should be normal that it does not feel hot, otherwise it indicates that the bearing temperature is too high.
The reasons for the high bearing temperature are:
1) The quality of the lubricating oil does not meet the requirements or deteriorates, and the viscosity of the lubricating oil is too high;
2) The mechanism assembly is too tight (insufficient clearance);
3) The bearing assembly is too tight;
4) The bearing race rotates on the shaft or in the shell;
5) The load is too large;
6) The bearing cage or rolling element is broken, etc.
Rolling bearings are allowed to have a slight running noise during operation. If the noise is too loud or there is abnormal noise or impact, it indicates that the bearing is faulty.
The reasons for the noise of rolling bearings are more complicated:
1) The mating surfaces of the inner and outer rings of the bearing are worn. Due to this wear, the matching relationship between the bearing and the housing, and the bearing and the shaft is destroyed, causing the axis to deviate from the correct position, and abnormal noise occurs when the shaft moves at high speed.
2) When the bearing is fatigued, the metal on its surface will peel off, which will also increase the radial clearance of the bearing and produce abnormal noise.
3) In addition, the lack of bearing lubrication, the formation of dry friction, and the breakage of the bearing will produce abnormal noises.
4) After the bearing is worn and loose, the cage is loose and damaged, and abnormal noise will also occur.
When the bearing is polluted by water, old oil, hydraulic fluid or aggressive additives, it is easily oxidized by the acidic substances in the pollutants, and oxidative corrosion occurs, resulting in a large number of rust or pits.
After the bearing is oxidized, a reddish-brown area appears in the raceway, roller, cage or other positions, and it is rust in the early stage, usually black. In severe cases, corrosion can cause early fatigue failure of the bearing.
The reason for oxidative corrosion is; the bearing is exposed to corrosive fluids and gases.
Solution: In order to effectively avoid the occurrence of this situation, the bearing should be cleaned and the old lubricating oil should be removed before installation, and water should be avoided to contact the bearing. Remove corrosive fluids and use integrally sealed bearings whenever possible.
